What we think we're stuck on often isn't the whole story. On the surface, it looks like a lack of motivation or not having time. But underneath? It's usually fatigue, maybe a fear of 'failure' or of letting someone down.
I noticed it in myself just yesterday.
I looked at my to-do list and felt a tightness in my chest. Not full overwhelm yet, but a familiar signal. The kind that tells me if I don't pay attention, things will spiral.
So instead of pushing through, I paused. I went for a walk.
As I walked, I did a quick check-in:
From there, I set a few boundaries. More realistic deadlines. Clearer priorities. I let some things wait instead of trying to carry everything at once.
Nothing big shifted. But the tightness eased, and that told me I was moving in the right direction.
Here's what I want you to know: not completing everything on your list isn't failure.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is take a step back. Get some perspective. That might mean going for a walk, talking it through with a friend, or working with someone like a coach who can help you see what you can't see on your own.
If you're feeling stuck, try slowing down instead of pushing forward.
You could continue with these questions that may help you get unstuck:
-
What situation are you dealing with right now?
-
How are you feeling about it?
-
What do you notice in your body when you think about it?
Often, that's enough to create a small shift.
Getting unstuck doesn't always mean taking action. Sometimes it means listening sooner and giving yourself permission to step back rather than push through.
And that can make all the difference.
